These terms govern use of Porchlight, the community-management software at porchlightpoa.com, by associations ("communities"), their board members and managers ("boards"), and their homeowners. By using Porchlight you agree to them.
Porchlight provides tools for boards to manage dues and collections, communications, calendars and amenity bookings, documents, votes and polls, vendors and bills, and financial reporting, plus a homeowner portal. Features vary over time; we may add, change or retire features with reasonable notice to boards.
Boards designate who may access their community's board portal. Each person signs in with their own email address; sharing sign-in links is not permitted. Boards are responsible for keeping their membership list current, including removing departing board members. Porchlight may suspend access that is being misused.
Data a community loads into Porchlight belongs to the community. The community is responsible for having the right to use it (for example, homeowner contact details collected under its governing documents) and for the accuracy of what it enters. Porchlight processes the data to provide the service as described in our Privacy Policy.
A community may connect its QuickBooks Online company so that Porchlight can read financial data into the community's reports. The connection is read-only: Porchlight does not create, edit or delete records in QuickBooks. The community is responsible for the accuracy of its QuickBooks books and for its own accounting and tax filings; Porchlight's reports are a convenience view, not an accounting opinion. Use of QuickBooks is also subject to Intuit's terms.
Subscription fees are stated on porchlightpoa.com or in the community's agreement and are billed monthly to the community. When online dues payment is enabled, payments are processed by Stripe under Stripe's terms; Porchlight never holds community funds. Processing fees disclosed at checkout may apply to the payer. Fees are non-refundable except as required by law.
Do not use Porchlight to send unlawful or harassing messages, to store data you have no right to, to attempt to access other communities' records, or to interfere with the service. Sponsor listings and marketplace posts must comply with the community's rules and applicable law.
We work to keep Porchlight available and back up data regularly, but the service is provided "as is" and we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation. Boards remain responsible for meeting legal deadlines (for example, notice periods under their governing documents) and should not rely on Porchlight as their only record. To the extent permitted by law, Porchlight is not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees the community paid to Porchlight in the twelve months before the claim.
A community may cancel at any time from Settings or by email; access ends at the close of the paid period and data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy. We may terminate for material breach after notice.
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arkansas, USA. Changes to these terms will be posted here with a new date; continued use after a change means acceptance.
